So far, the most unsurpassed and most efficient way to store CO2 has been invented by nature itself. CO2 makes basic component of every tree or any living on the Earth. Trees and plants permanently draw CO2 from our atmosphere. Once a tree or plant reaches its maximum size, this process of CO2 absorption is significantly slowed down. At such a time, it is best to harvest the adult trees, store their wood in permanent products and plant new young trees in their place to make them grow and absorb CO2 faster than the original adult trees.
We are aware of the problems with deforestation or illegal logging in the Russian Taiga or other parts of the World. Morava Wood has always bought and has historically bought wood exclusively from renewable forests. That means there is no deforestation impact coming from the company's activities on the contrary natural and healthy regeneration of forests. Thanks to the already described mechanism of storing CO2 in wooden products, the Morava Wood company stores more than 6,000 tons of CO2 in wooden floors every year. According to the European average of CO2 emissions per capita (includes all industry, electricity generation, transport, etc.), our company thus saves carbon dioxide emissions for more than 1,000 EU inhabitants.
In other words, one person working at Morava Wood compensates for CO2 emissions for himself and another 7 people.
